Yes, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative offers net metering credits. Under the Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative net metering program, solar panels will first send energy to your home. Any excess solar energy is sent to the grid and purchased in the form of a bill credit.

Net metering is the most common arrangement, and works by selling any surplus power generated by your solar panels to the utility operator in exchange for credits, which offset any electricity you may need to use from the grid. The credit is applied at the retail rate, which means the rate that you pay for electricity.

While WREC is owned by its individual Members, Seminole Electric Cooperative is owned collectively by its Member Cooperatives, including WREC. This means that WREC, along with eight other Member Cooperatives, collectively own Seminole Electric Cooperative.

Bills for electric service become past due approximately twenty days after the billing date. Both the billing date and the past due date are printed on your bill. A 1.5%, but not less than, $5.00 late charge will apply to all unpaid balances as of 5:00 p.m. on the past due date.

Capital Credits represents Members' ownership in the Cooperative which is one of our founding principles, Economic Participation. WREC's Capital Credits are an allocation of funds that represents your share of the ownership in the Cooperative.
