My next vote is for Nawaz Sharif - No matter what. When I voted for NS in last general election, I wanted to judge his performance after 5 years and would have voted on merit. I wanted to see how Imran Khan would have worked hard for KPK and then decide whether to vote for NS or IK. I was optimistic for IK and I really thought he could have be an alternative. In Last 4 years, IK has brought nothing but instability to Pakistan (a few positives here and there but nothing significantly positive). Worst of all, IK did not give me chance to vote on merit in 2018 General Election. I will most probably vote for NS in 2018 on sympathy factor. And I reckon this is due to IK. Please let governments complete their term and dont destabilize them in the mid way so that we, the people, can vote on the basis of performance instead of sympathy.

Myself sitting as far away as Kuwait has been frightened for none of my fault can very well imagine how those in Islamabad in particular and Pakistan in general must be feeling the pinch. Imran could not withstand and preferred not to go to SC to listen the verdict though he was one f those few who were allowed to be present before SC bench to listen the verdict with their own ears. prime minister’s accountability should not necessarily be construed as a threat to democracy, because this is where the elected representatives’ high moral ground lies — that they are more accountable than all other institutions. In Panama, there are lessons for the politicians to steer clear of corruption of all kinds. In Panama again, there are lessons about all the unelected institutions — centres of power nonetheless — that are still beyond the ambit of accountability.

I also remember the fixing of the 1990 election as proven in the Supreme Court, not even including the so called 1964 'election'.We all know what Nawaz Sharif is and the kind of self centered regressive politics he represents, he is however the winner of the election and should be allowed to serve the full term. If the public don't support him he will not be re-elected, this constant interference in democracy will only destabilise Pakistan and tarnish the army further.

That is not a good sign, as it will never happen in any mature democracy in Europe, the US or even India. It is okay to have the judiciary sit in judgment over politicians, but the military should never sit in judgment over the civilians leaders. This was a power struggle and not about justice. It is the same old nonsense where the court is subservient to military dictation and helps to subvert democracy by breaking up civilian governments, but a society that suffers from mass amnesia thinks it is something new, which is tragic to say the least.

"Reacting to the court's order, a PML-N spokesperson said that the party will utilise all legal and constitutional means to contest the verdict". Agreed, you will utilise all legal and constitutional means to contest the verdict". This was the basic reason behind formation of JIT to give you all a fair chance to convince and satisfy the JIT and the Honorable Court with authentic documentary evidences. Now as the position stands, as many as Five Cases are to be referred to NAB based on the findings of the JIT and court's verdict, thus the scope of the trial would be the same, and the basis of proceedings would be the available documentary evidences, what in your opinion would lead the NAB to decide the case otherwise?

The verdict does not stand up to scrutiny. Was it pre-determined?A popular, elected PM running the country competently in his fourth year of office is convicted on the basis of an undeclared receivable and removed from office for money that it is agreed that he has not taken. On a plea that was not made. No mis-use of power in his current post is alleged.Who benefits from such a decision? We lose a PM and stable governance. What do we gain, is even this sum of un-received money going to be paid to Pakistan? This was an exercise in harming Pakistan and those responsible should be made to pay for it.

While in public office and holding a high level position in the government it is illegal to earn through partnerships as it collides with personal interests. Furthermore, the court hasn't given any verdict regarding the Panama case. In addition, it would be more meaningful for Pakistan if all the people involved in this and who hold public office should be banned from leaving the country for at least 10 years. During this time they should be free to roam and live in Pakistan, conduct business, however; their accounts should be monitored along with their lifestyles so that it can be further proved that they really cant live a lifestyle of kings while claiming to have nothing. In most countries your INCOME is money you have already received. Why is Pakistan using a different yardstick this time? If a bank has accrued interest from a loan, and it is unpaid to the bank, would that money would count as income according to this judgement. Yes?Mr Narendra Modi did not declare his married status in several elections, but did so in the 2014 general election as he had no choice. He has not been disqualified.

This sacking shows the disdain the ruling classes have for the common man who gave his vote to NS. A sad day for Pakistan.

Resigning after being disqualified is useless. If he wanted to step down, he should have done it before the verdict. Please put Nawaz Sharif and his entire family on exit control list till the conclusion of their respective trials. It would be a shame if they go abroad and live a lavish life without being held accountable for their crimes of looting and plundering national wealth of Pakistan.

I do wish that the swiftness that the supreme court has shown could be emulated by the lower courts where the common man has to go for justice. Pathetic performance of the courts in that regard..... i don't know when the court mafia would be corrected.
